ABOUT US
SilverPoses is an event production and promotions company that started in creative minds of Yvette Coleman and C. Yohance DeLoatch. Launched in North Carolina in August 1998, and re-launched in New York City in January 2000 without any start-up capital, but with passion and a deep conviction that hip-hop and its surrounding culture would soon be entering a huge growth phase. Our company has recently ventured from Atlanta GA, Washington D.C, Hampton VA and the North Carolina area, there we produced several fashion segments for malls, colleges, and local businesses. SilverPoses also produced calendars for HBCU campuses that featured select students that possessed the total package of intelligence, inner/outer beauty.
Both were courageous, obviously, but they were also exceptionally talented, and representative of the type of sacrifice and perseverance even the most talented and ambitious native New Yorker. The addition of another bright and talented individual came through by a chance meeting. Qiana Spellman, an honors English graduate of Xavier University has been an incredible asset to the company. She exemplified the tenacity, and determination that is needed to be successful as entrepreneur and role model to women and minorities. Since the re-launch of SilverPoses, We have co-produced the WBLS Black Expo Fashion Event NYC ’01, 02 and we are currently working together on other events with the inclusion of fashion. The successful “NABRU” fashion event, a showing of major brands amongst the metro community was executive produced by SilverPoses, and will continue to provide a conducive environment for alternative standards of fashion events. We are primarily focused on the “up and coming/underground” talent in the minority community first; this includes the entire facet of the industry (clothing lines, make-up, hair, talented models, photographers, graphic art, press & publications). decided to devote
more of the space in this website to other types of up-and-coming
designers, and entertainment from the worlds of music, fashion, art and
film. SP has always been about discovery, and we work very hard every day
to identify, for our peers, the new generation of talented and ambitious
musicians, models, designers, performers, and actors.
We
wanted to show the
optimism and ambition that has maintained New York City as the place where
people can come from all over the world, with the sole purpose of making
their dreams come true
which
has become the hip, young cosmopolitan urban lifestyle of new ideas. SilverPoses
has attracted the world's leading magazines, newspapers, television
networks, radio stations, websites, advertising agencies; as well as
marketing directors and retailers in the fields of music, fashion and art.
SP is now a leading high-end urban fashion, music, and art lifestyle
production. Fuses aggressive
reporting, arresting visuals and savvy promotion so support a vision that
is unafraid to question the innovative breakthroughs in global urban
culture. SP has extended the
brand beyond publishing calendars; into related merchandising through
fashion events (with companies like Mecca USA, Avirex, PELLE PELLE, Karl
Kani, and soon music production. SilverPoses will become a cultural
commentator for all matters urban.
